THE SUFFIELD SOCCER CLUB

About Us

About Us:

The Suffield Soccer Club (SSC) was established in 1985 as not-for-profit organization. SSC is run by volunteers with the goal of offering the game of soccer to our youth residents. We have approximately 475 children participating in our fall and spring programs ranging from PreK – High School. The SSC is a member of the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association (CJSA) which is made up of roughly 160 clubs divided into 7 districts throughout the state. We are part of the North Central district.

Our Mission:

The mission of the Suffield Soccer Club is to provide a safe and fun environment in which the youth of our community can develop a love and passion for the game of soccer. We strive to foster good sportsmanship, skill development, and community commitment. To achieve this mission, the club aims to develop the best coaches, volunteer network, and organization; all targeted at the overriding goal of “doing what’s best for the youth of Suffield.” The SSC will not discriminate against any individual based on race, color, religion, age, gender, or national origin.

Our Philosophy:

The Suffield Soccer Club promotes the development of individual technical skills, within a fun environment, as the foundation for success in soccer. In order to develop better players our focus is on long-term development as opposed to short-term results of games. While the value of winning is understood in terms of creating a healthy, competitive attitude and team spirit, it is less important (especially at the younger ages) than the overall objective of developing players in a fun and competitive atmosphere.
