Suffield Soccer Club offers three different programs to register for throughout the year. Registration is open the same time every year for each one. Come back and visit this page during the registration window to sign your child/children up! You will be asked to upload their birth certificate during registration; this will help build their profile for years to come and appropriately assign them to their eligible groups. Academy First Touch Program - Fall
Registration Window: August 1st - 31st
Program Cost: $75 (includes a T-Shirt)
The First Touch program takes place every year for U4 & U5 players (PreK age). Your child must be 3 years old by September 1st in order to register. The First Touch program is designed to be the initial or introductory stage of soccer, where everything is FUN based. Players will spend the maximum time in contact with the ball, experimenting by themselves, while learning to build relationships with other players during our small-sided games. The program typically starts the first weekend in September, takes place on Sunday late afternoon, and runs for 6 weeks.

Academy First Touch (FT) & Early Development (ED) Programs - Spring
Registration Window: March 1st - 31st
Program Cost: $75 (includes a T-Shirt)
The Spring Academy program is very similar to the Fall except it is also open to children who are U6 - U8, typically Kindergarten - Second Grade age.  Similar to the above, the program takes place on Sundays in the late afternoon. Typically, First Touch (U4 & U5) are the first hour and Early Development (U6 - U8) are the second hour. The program runs for 6 weeks starting in mid-April.

Suffield Soccer Club Fall & Spring Soccer
Registration Window: April 1st - 30th, for the upcoming Fall & Spring season

PLEASE NOTE: Fall 2026/Spring 2027 Registration is DELAYED! (see below for details)

Program Cost: $250 (uniform cost is separate)
Registration is for the upcoming Fall and Spring season; your child remains on the same team for both seasons. Fall usually takes place the first weekend in September through the first weekend in November, and Spring takes place mid-April to early-June. Teams typically play a friendly match every Saturday with surrounding towns and will take part in a CJSA League game every Sunday. Our U9 teams participate in evaluations and are evenly split, with a focus on fun, development, and teamwork. Starting at U10 through U15, players take part in a try-out and are divided into teams by skill level (ie. A, B, C). Evals and try-outs are usually held early June with team assignments by early July. We do allow advanced U8 players to try-out for our U9 teams. This is based on registered number of eligible players for U9 and whether more players are needed to complete teams. If you are interested in having your child try-out, email our Registrar during the month of April to express interest. 

Suffield Soccer Club eligibility starts at U9. This is determined by birth date, not grade level. Birth date eligibility changed beginning with the 2026/2027 season, based on USYS recommendation for school peers to play together. Our club chose to grandfather in our existing teams from the 2025/2026 season, meaning those children will continue with Jan 1 - Dec 31 eligibility. Incoming U9 and beyond, will begin to go based on a September 1st eligibility cut-off, to match Connecticut's school system for age-grade eligibility. Reference the grid below to help you understand your child's age-group eligibility. If you have questions or feel your child's birth date does not match their grade-level peers, please email our President or Club Registrar to discuss options for our board to review. We have highlighted below a special circumstance we will consider if your child has a 9/1 - 12/31 birthday and is in school with the grade listed. Our goal will be to keep players with their school-grade peers. *Tip: if you create your child's profile with their date of birth on our website, the registration website will show you programs they are eligible for when the registration window is open.


PLEASE NOTE: Fall 2026/Spring 2027 Registration is DELAYED!
CJSA signed with PlayMetrics and are currently working through setting up their system. Until they have built the required questions that all clubs must include in their registration, we cannot open ours for the future season. Our goal at this point is to open it May 1st. In the meantime, you can prepare for Registration by doing the following:
1. Download the PlayMetrics app and create your Login
2. Ensure you have your child's birth certificate ready for player creation. A birth certificate and new/recent photo of your child will be required to be uploaded during registration.
