Dear Coach or Manager,
The Suffield Soccer Club invites you to apply for participation in the 17th annual Suffield
Invitational Soccer Tournament. Suffield, CT is located approximately 15 miles north of
Hartford, CT and less than 10 miles south of Springfield, MA. Suffield is located less than
5 miles from Bradley International Airport and our tournament facilities are easily accessible
from I-91 with numerous hotels and restaurants for your convenience.
The 2005 tournament headquarters will be the Bruce Park Sports Complex. Games will also be played at
Suffield High School, Middle school and Sullivan Field. We take great pride in our reputation for hosting a
competitive tournament as well as family fun and entertainment. We accommodate many skill levels, have
excellent field quality, support services and unsurpassed hospitality. We have a U9 and U10 division
where all participants receive an award. This year’s tournament will feature two divisions for each
age group U-11 through U-17, a division for Classic Travel teams and a division for Premier/Select
teams, including U-12 Developmental teams.
Last year we attracted 152 teams throughout the Northeast, including teams from Rhode Island,
Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Montreal.
In between games, discover New England charm and hospitality in Connecticut’s Heritage Valley.
Enjoy trolley car rides at the Trolley Museum and walks through the underground tunnels at the local Old
Newgate Prison and Copper Mine where prisoners were shackled and chained at night. Travel through
aviation history as you walk among the scores of fighters, bombers, helicopters, commercial planes
and other aircraft on a guided tour of the New England Air Museum. Take advantage of the Museum’s
buy one admission get one free coupon (good for up to 4 free admissions). Six Flags New England is
less than 5 miles from tournament headquarters. Also teams can visit the “brand” new interactive
Basketball Hall of Fame, Yankee Candle Factory or check out the shops in scenic Northampton, MA.
These attractions are within a short distance from Suffield.
General Information
The 2005 Suffield Soccer Club Invitational Soccer Tournament is sanctioned by the Connecticut Junior
Soccer Association, a member of the US Youth Soccer. Tournament participation is intended for affiliated
Club Travel teams and Premier/Select teams that are registered with their respective state or
national associations.
Round robin competition begins at 7:30 AM Saturday, June 25th and will conclude late in the day on Sunday,
June 26th. U15-U17 championship games will be played Sunday night. U11-U14 finals will take place
