The
Suffield Soccer Club’s 2009 Invitational Soccer Tournament in
sanctioned by the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association, a member of
the United States Soccer Foundation. Tournament participation is
intended for affiliated Travel/Club, Select, and Premier level teams
that are registered with their respective state or national
associations.
DEADLINE for submitting tournament applications is
MAY 15th, 2009. Round robin competition
will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 27th, 2009, and
will conclude late in the day on Sunday, June 28th, 2009.
USSF certified referees will be used at all games. Three for all U11
through U17 games and center referees only for U9 and U10 games.

Tournament Age Groups:
|
|
The Tournament will feature competition in the age groups U9 thru U17 for boys, and U9 thru U17 for girls, for players born on or after August 1 as follows:
U17 (1991)
U16 (1992)
U15 (1993)
U14 (1994)
U13 (1995)
U12 (1996)
U11 (1997)
U10 (1998)
U9 (1999)
- Each team will play four games (2 games per day) in a round robin format. The team with the highest point totals (subject to a standard tie breaker formula) in each U11 through U17 division we be declared champions. All players on division Championship Teams will be awarded with an individual item. All U11 games will be played 8 v 8.
- U9 and U10 divisions will play 8 v 8 (inclusive of goalkeeper) in a round robin format with no standings or championships awards given. All U9 and U10 players will receive a participation award.
- Team Club patches will be exchanged at the end of each game for all divisions.

Participating Teams; Rosters; Identification:
|
|
Applications are
being accepted from any Travel/Club, Select, and Premier level team that is duly
registered with its respective state or national association. Teams for U9, U10,
& U11 shall consist of rosters up to 17 players, and teams in U12 through U17
competition shall consist of rosters up to 22 players. Each team may have up to
four (4) guest players. Any team utilizing a guest player must furnish a "Guest
Player Approval" form (to be supplied with notice of acceptance) at
registration, indicating approval of both the club with which the guest player
is registered and the League or District registrar for the participating team.
No player may be listed on more than one roster with-in the tournament.
Proof of
age must be evidenced by a current USYSA player pass or by the appropriate
association registration card. PLEASE NOTE THAT COPIES OR OTHER FORMS OF
IDENTIFICATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Players Passes will be checked at
registration and prior to all games.
Any teams
outside of Region One (1) must submit an approved "Permission to Travel"
form at registration.
This is not
required of any Region One (1) team except from New Jersey.
PLEASE NOTE THAT
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF APPLICANTS TO COMPLETE ALL NECESSARY PAPERWORK AS
INDICATED IN LIGHT OF CJSA AND SUFFIELD CLUB REQUIREMENTS, ABSOLUTELY NO
EXCEPTIONS WILL BE ALLOWED. |

Level of Play:
|
|
We make every
effort to match teams of equal ability. A team will be placed in a division
within its age group based on our assessment of its relative competitive ability
compared with other teams applying in the same age group. Our goal is to have
two divisions at each age group level for boys and girls U11- U17,
Travel/Classic – Select /Premier.
The number of divisions in each age group and their respective levels of play
will depend upon the number and types of teams applying and accepted in each age
group.

Tournament
Entry Fee and Mailing Deadline:

The 2009 entry fee is $475.00
for all teams.
Payment of the entry fee must be tendered by check payable to the
"Suffield Soccer Club".
All teams must registrar through the GotSoccer.com website using the
link provided below.
We ask that teams print-out the completed Got Soccer application and
mail it along with a check to:
