SSC is again looking for individuals over the age of 15 to assist with the running our annual tournament Saturday, June 22^nd and Sunday, June 23^rd.   Duties include parking/traffic assistance, field marshaling, info booth support, and grounds cleanup. This year SSC will coordinate, assign duties and be responsible for payment after duties are complete.   Individuals, who are interested in earning community service, SSC scholarship credit or being on a “For Hire” list @ $10/hour, are encouraged to respond to this email with name, age, email, cell phone, duty preferences, # hours desired, availability and type of service (community service, SSC credit or For Hire).

The Suffield Soccer Club announces tryouts for the 2013-2014 Travel Soccer Program will be held at Cervione Soccer Complex, 476 Copper Hill Road-W. Suffield, during evenings from June 10–13th.  Travel soccer involves a time commitment from both players and parents, as generally there will be two practices during the week and two games each weekend against teams from throughout north central Connecticut. The season runs typically from the end of August through early November in the Fall Season and from the end of March to mid-June in the Spring Season.  The travel soccer program is competitive, and not all players who try out for U10-U14 teams are guaranteed a place on a team. For U9 teams, however, there will be no cuts so all upcoming 3rd graders who register will have a place on a team.

Travel registration fee will be $225 for 2013 Fall – 2014 Spring season. Parents must register their child on-line via www.suffieldsoccer.com before June 7th. Please complete necessary forms in advance along with obtaining a 1x1 photo and birth certificate (if child did not play for Suffield Travel this past year). On days of tryout, please arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled tryout time, wear cleats & shin guards, and bring a soccer ball & water bottle. Please do not wear a uniform jersey or shirt with number on it.   
 
If a player cannot make both scheduled tryouts for his/her age group, the parent must notify prior to the tryouts. Missing a tryout may affect a participant’s placement on a given team.

There will be a General Club Meeting Thursday May 9th 8:00 pm at the Ratley Rd Firehouse.  Items on the agenda include Tournament discussions and Tryouts.

Suffield Soccer Club is also seeking nominations for the positions of Vice President and Treasurer.  These positions will be up for a vote at the Annual Meeting in August.  Anyone interested in nominating an individual please e-mail .

Finally, the Suffield Soccer Club is asking that anyone interested in assisting the Registar with her duties contact either Tim Lewis or Nancy Chamberlain.

The Spring Academy this season will be run by Play Better Soccer.  The program is set up as follows:
 

• 6-8 year old Boys and Girls (12 sessions)

 When:  Tuesdays: April 23rd, 30th, May 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th 
             Thursdays: April 25, May 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th
 Time:  5:30pm to 6:30pm    Cost: $120
 

• 4 & 5 year old Boys and Girls (5 sessions)

When:  Sundays: April 21st, 28th, May 5th, 12th, and 19th
Time:  4:00pm to 5:00pm  Cost: $50

Both Programs will be held at : 776 Thompsonville Road, Suffield (Fields behind the Fire Station)

All participants must wear shin guards and cleats, and bring their own ball.
